Vickey Russell is a Master Dog Trainer who specializes in pet manners and dog behavior. She owns and operates a 23 acre farm in North Georgia where she lives with dogs, sheep, donkeys, and chickens. She spends her days surrounded by nature, caring for animals, and helping people better understand and enjoy their dogs. She states, “Working with animals warms my heart and feeds my soul.”
Vickey grew up on a farm in Nashville, TN where both of her parents were in the dog business. Her father was a professional dog handler and trainer while her mother owned and operated a boarding kennel and grooming shop. Over the years, Vickey’s love for dogs grew into a mission of helping create better relationships between people and their dogs. She is passionate about all dogs having forever homes. She strongly believes that proper training and a better understanding of dog behavior can transform any dog into a loving and lifelong companion.
“My belief is that at a dog’s core they want to please us which makes them so special to us. However, they don’t come to this world speaking our language. So we humans, as the cognitive uprights, must learn to communicate with them. If we can learn to communicate what we want and what we don’t want, I believe they will give us the behaviors we desire because they truly want to please us!”
